   You mean you often go around with a pocket knife? I really cannot remember
that I have ever carried a knife with me in public, but then of course, I don't
have the need to carry one.

   That didn't really answer my question, did it? Why is it not "trampling
civil rights" to ban weapons on an aeroplane, but it is, banning them on e.g. a
bus, in a bar or in a school or any other public space?

   No, but they damn sure knows, over here, that anyone flashing a weapon in a
public space is a criminal. And the entire population knows it as wee, so if
you display a weapon in public, a lot of people would immediately call 112
(that's 911 to you). Ergo, we have a wide acceptance that carrying weapons is
something that only criminals do. Big difference, I take it...?

   In February 2007 650k Swedish citizens (about 10% of the adults) had a
weapons permit and between them they had 2M licensed weapons. This of course
includes the police and the military, but after that it's mostly "hunting for
food" rifles. Elk/moose hunting is a big thing here -- last year 277k hunting
licenses were issued. They are issued per season and per animal.

   But still we see very few hand guns floating around. With a very restrict
weapons policy -- like most of the civilized countries have -- it's much more
easy for the LEA:s to keep control over the weapons.

   Surely you must understand this, you just don't want to admit that what you
are doing is as stupid as it is wrong. Right?

   I don't know what cabin fever you are talking about. Are you talking from
your own experience or what?

   No matter what, I still believe that there are far more intelligent,
civilized people in the US, than there are ignorant, stupid GWB-followers who
cannot even spell "amendment" right....
