You keep forgetting - or ignoring - that I am not a native English speaker.
Homenyms in one language usually aren't in another. So associations work
different in different langages. "Spidering" is not a word I know and that I
can find in a dictionary. Besides the anology is a bad one. Spiders do NOT
crawl round on their web. The buikd web and then they sit still in a corner
until a prey gets caught in it.

"Web" can mean a variety of things, so why should I associate the word wide web
with a spider crawling ? To you as a native English speaker the association may
be obvious, to me it is not.

"Traveling over some sort of medium"..hmmm... 

If you mean by "web spidering" "surfing the web" then the answer to your
question must be "no as such it is not illegal here". If you mean something
else, I can't answer the question.

You mean I should /guess/ what you mean instead of asking? So that you then
could nail me down for making wrong assumptions? No thanks pal, I am not
walking into that trap.

There are no stupid questions, but not asking can be pretty stupid at times.
