  opportunity to deny them their revenue.

   Really.  That is what businesses do all the time.   They produce a
   product in the hope and expectation that some might pay for it.

  Without paying what they should.  You seem to have this habit of
  denying that fact.  Your argument of "more people get to view it" is

  So be it -- if you don't want to pay, you should not get to view.

  Michiel has lost nothing -- when he submitted his article to fidonews,
  he agreed to its distribution.  Hence he gave it away of his own free
  will.   He retains any rights for separate distribution via other
