That will be difficult to avoid. The only way to avoid it is for the snitch tp
come forward and confess so that all other suspects are exhonorated. But that
is not likely to happen.

I don't know that. Why would the snitch make himsel vulnerable to blackmail by
making himself known to a select group? it would not be very smart, alleigencys
tend to turn and what is today's alley, may be tomorrow's adversary.

If that assumption is correct, the snitch himself must be invulnerable to that
kind of retalliation as if he/she were, the retalliation would have been
against him instaed of against Robert. And that narrows down the list of
suspects.
   
No, I don't go with your theory. I think whoever did this just went for the
nearest target.
