He was referring to Canadian Football, they operate slightly differently than
the USA NFL.

3 downs instead of 4 for NFL

End zones being 5 yards deep compared to 10 yards deep for NFL fields.

I believe their goal posts are at the front of each end zone and I am sure
there are other rule differences.

Since they only have 3 downs to either convert to a first down or to score,
Gordons claim makes sense that the kicking game plays a higher role in scoring.

CFL's championship game is called the Grey Cup..

Here is the ways teams can score:

[Touchdown 6 points]

Offense moves ball across defenses goal line

[Point After attempt 1 point]

Kicker kicks ball through goal post upright, following a Touchdown.

[Two Point Conversion 2 points]

Offense can opt to try this INSTEAD of a point after attempt, following a
touchdown.

Failure to "convert" (score) either a point after attempt or a two point
conversion means that only the touchdown points show on the board.

[Field Goal 3 points]

Offense can opt to line up with their kicker to put these points on the board
if they havent the time to score a touchdown or cannot move the ball far enough
to get a first down. Downs are a set of plays, when a team runs out of downs,
the opposing teams offense takes over. Usually on the last down, a team will
either gamble and try for the first down (necessary yardage) or they will punt
the ball away or attempt a field goal. A Good NFL placekicker will have an
average field goal range of 45 to 55 yards, some can if lucky kick it 60..

Field goal length is calculated by the distance the ball is from opponents goal
line, add 10 yards for the goal post being at the rear of the endzone and
another 7 yards from where the ball is set in place when the kick is attempted.
Most teams wont attempt a field goal if they have not moved the ball past or
inside the opponents 40 yard line and in some case, much closer.

So having edicated you a bit more, why not look up the past 39 superbowl
results and try to determine the scoring breakdown?
