It's touchdowns, not home runs. :) Home runs is baseball.

Yup, the kicking game is often the leading scoring. Not every year
mind ya, but it's not as low a point getter as some would believe.

There are years when it's the passing game that makes the points,
then other years the running game, and some years the kicking
game. I would say that over the years of Pro ball in the NFL, the
running game is the best point getter, but that can change with a
good QB and receivers. Some years there is an exceptional running
back, some years a quarterback with an eagle eye and some years
there will be a outstanding  receivers. As far as I can tell, the
scoring is pretty well balanced over the 3 methods, passing,
running and kicking and any one can be the scoring leader.

Mind you, as Ross has stated, in the CFL, it's easier for the
kicking game to be the point getter, but..., it's not always the
highest point scorer. Average it out over the life of the league,
then it is. You just can't take one game and extrapolate it's
stats over a season or lifetime

As far as the Super Bowl goes, over the years it has generally
been a blow-out, very lop-sided, except for tha last 2 years where
2 "good" teams actually took to the field. You can't take Super
Bowl stats and use that to define a season.
