Well... cars do last longer these days... Mine's in good shape as well, but
approaching 200,000 miles it's a point where you kinda have most everything
well worn and to the point where it needs replacing. Besides, A Chevy never was
made to last a lifetime like a Mercedes. :-(

No it isn't very serious at all... but it's meant to *look* serious to the FEDs
because air quality is bad enough that we're on their "list". But really, while
they do a few good things environment-wise, they then turn around and approve
more coal-fired power plants and build miles and miles more of freeway lanes
for thousands and thousands more cars. In Dallas one of the biggest polluters
is the TXI concrete plant which is SouthWest of Dallas (ahead of the prevailing
wind) and acounts for probably 50% (My guess) of the pollution... but they pay
a lot of taxes and employ thousands of people in a neighboring county.

HA!!!! There aint no Horses in Texas! Just Pickup trucks. I remember moving
from Phoenix Arizona to Texas in 1969... for some reason, even at age 13, I
expected to find horses and cowboys everywhere when we got here. That was
coming from Arizona, where you'd think it was even closer to the "wild West",
but without horses as well.
