You are bypassing the fact that I am talking about EU-passports, not USA-issued
ones.
 
The EU-passports were already issued with a chip long before the US awoke from
the 9/11 nightmare. The first country to have them was Denmark. These Danes and
toys have always had a very special relationship.
 
BTW, we celebrate 50 years of LEGO-bricks in January, another fine Danish
product.

Nope, this is a EU-passport intended for worldwide trabel, not to link into a
US database.
 
Checking of the US database is done by crossreferencing the name of the bearer
and the passport-number plus its date of issue (which both change every 6
years). Some time ago an immigration officer remarked "You seem to get around
here", the system listed all of my entries since they went electronic. Before
that they had to manually go through some impressive thick books.
 
There is quite some opposition by the US requiring the airlines to send the
electronic immigration information already at departure of the aircraft. I
don't mind however as I've noticed most people now are pre-cleared already upon
arrival and the immigration-process, though still a PITA, moves quicker than
before.

US customs have never checked my ID. Customs are a different department than
Homeland Security under which 'immigration inspection' now resides.
 
Since you've never "been anywhere", per your own admission, there's no way you
would know.

IMO has monitored it and has issued the data some years ago. There's more than
'dumping oil' in a sewer, there's run-off from the streets and all kinds of
business/practices.
 
You'd be amazed about the amount of oil being discharged via 2-stroke
lawn-mowers for example. Then accumulate that for a city the size of LA. Add to
that the discharge by 2-stroke outboard engines.
 
IMO published an estimate about the amount of oil lost by recreational craft on
the water ... incredible.
 
Also the discharge I'm talking about is gradual. 24hrs a day, 365 days a year
...
 
One drop in a bucket is nothing, but continuous dropping will fill the bucket.
 
And I mentionned LA because that was what IMO wrote about, but it's a universal
trend ... more oil flows to the sea than that due to tanker or shipping
accident.
