It was west when the colonies were still Brit...it was west until the

That's what anyone who undestands English grammar would know. The only
people who 'believe' anything get their info from people who don't have a
very good grasp of English. We always get this crap from the non-English
speakers here.

According to the Norwegians, it's a Norwegian administered territory.
According to their neighbors on the island, it's a Russian administered
territory.

It is not international, as according to the Svalbard Treaty, it is shared
by all of the signatories to that treaty. Only citizens from signatory
countries that signed that treaty may live there without permission from
the other signatories.

Of course, sinc you're leaving one part of Norway for another, offshore.

That would depend on the registration of your boat. A US registered boat
would be stopped. A Russian registered boat would not, since Russia is a
signatory to the treaty.

The only bears on the endangered species list are the Grizzly, American
Black Bear and the Louisiana Black Bear...no mention of Polar Bear in that
list, anywhere. However, the Polar Bear has been *proposed* as an addition
to the list, due mostly to the changing sea ice seen in Alaska.

NWT Resident: License Fee $10
Non-Resident Canadian: License Fee $20 + $750 trophy fee
Non-Resident Alien License Fee $50 + $750 trophy fee

Sure Ward...whatever you say. FYI, the Mauser military round is not the
round of choice among bear hunters. Hunting outfits recommend high-powered
rifles with 30-40 rounds, minimum. (300 magnum with 220 grain bullets
recommended). Once you compare the size of the bear to an object of known
size, you'll see and understand why.

Right! They're called National Forest Rangers in the National Forest. They
work for the National Forest Service, while the Park Ranger works for the
National Park Service. The former under the Department of Agriculture, the
latter under the Department of the Interior.
