Yes, there are still some left who hold that belief and call themselves
scientists nevertheless. There are dwarfed by an ever growing majority who
adhere to Ockham's razor and who say postulating a supreme being adds nothing
to our understanding of the universe.

The operative words are: in the long run.

Man will either destroy himself or he will come to his senses. Either way: the
end of religion.

That must have been quite some time ago. The cent (Guilders) was taken out of
circulation *years* ago.

That can not be right. The US$ was never above HFL4,-

No, things were usually priced ending in a 9. At the counter however prices
were rounded off to 0 or 5 cent in preparation of the abolishment of the cent.

The reason for doing away with the cent was that the cost of carrying them
around was higher then the loss of doing away with them. Plus that the copper
in them was worth more than the face value of the coin.

I have a couple of them in my collection. The last one is from 1972.
