So botany is not a science by your definition? You'd have a hard time
convincing a lot of plant biologists of that. As for your "definitions", that's
pure emotion and has nothing to do with fact.

You might be surprised to learn that most of the "natural" insulin diabetics
need to continue living is nowadays made using genetically modified bacteria.
The product is purer, cheaper and available in much larger quantities than at
the time insulin was extracted from bovine glands.

And that's only one example of what you term "manipulation" and reject out of
hand. I think you'd do yourself a favor if you'd gather a little more
information on the subject. There are always two sides to anything, and while
it's only wise and reasonable to investigate possible negative effects, it's
foolish to _only_ consider them to the exclusion of the positive ones.
