OK. My world map is on the wall and I couldn't read the name of the area

Many people around the world were involved in 'observing' those who were
actually at war, just in case it came their way. Such was the case of our
people onboard British vessels at war.

In that book I mention below, a Japanese Naval Officer, who trained under
British and American tuteledge during the 30s in Japan, went to London to
observe the war close up in 1940. He learned the tactics of the Germans
and the British and he was right when he surmised that the Germans would
lose the Battle for Britain. The reason was because of whoever it was that
was responsibile for planning the German air tactics, was a very poor
military planner. (we all know who that was)

As proof of his observations, his influence in the planning helped to
make their attack as fool proof as possible. However, there was only one
flaw in the Japanese attack on America and that was our diplomatic fault,
not theirs. He was a student of Admiral Yamomoto and a damned good one
too. Not to mention the British way of the sea was well implanted in him
by a British officer who later became his sworn enemy.

I just finished reading the book, Pearl Harbor, by Newt Gingrich and
William R Forstchen...it gives the reader a great insight into the
personal lives of people on both sides as it builds up from 1935 to the
events at Pearl. To say that the Japanese were envious of those Catalinas
would be an understatment. Recommended reading, NY Best Seller list. My
next book is the follow-up to it as the Japanese try to take out the US
Navy before we can make a come-back. Fortunately, and not by design, our
carriers were nowhere to be found by the Japanese that day.
