Ärende: Russia attacking Poland

The Russian Bear had three objectives in invading Georgia -

Objective #1 - Control certain pro-Russian provinces within Georgia.
That objective has been achieved.  Georgia will never again be allowed
to control those provinces.  They belong to The Russian Bear.

Objective #2 - Replace the Georgian president with a pro-Russian
president.  Along with a pro-Russian government in Georgia.  That
objective is still a work in progress, but will be achieved in
due time.

Objective #3 - Eastern Europeans will recognize the fickleness of
the response from NATO and the USA to the Russian invasion of Georgia.
The Russian Bear will have clearly demonstrated its capacity to destroy
a pro-Western regime without having to resort to a full-scale invasion.
Eastern European leaders will observe all this and come to the sane
conclusion that it is better to accommodate themselves to the wishes
of The Russian Bear than to face annihilation.

In this way, every Russian objective will have been achieved.

We saved Europe from itself twice.  Had we not done so the first
time, the war would have ended at roughly the same time with roughly
the same number of Europeans dying.  The reason why Europeans quit
fighting in WWI was due to the fact that European countries did not
have any more young men left to die.  And old people prefer to live
rather than die. But we helped Europe.  And as a result, some people
were saved. Including a young man named Lenin, who was then put on a
train and shipped out from Germany to begin a new life in Russia.
Such was the rise of communism. Had we not saved Europe from itself
the second time, we would all be a bunch of little nazis today.
So perhaps it is best we did help Europe.
