How do you think Southerners feel after being told - by Yankees - for
over a hundred years that the War Between the States was all about how
noble them Yankees were by freeing the slaves?  Southerners knew it was
all a pack of lies, knowing from experience what it was like to have
been invaded by an army that had no honor.  No Southerner trusted a
Yankee no matter who that Yankee was.  And many Southerners, to this
very day, still do not trust a Yankee, and dare not even talk to one.

Imagine how the German people must feel, given their experiences.
"Why did you bomb our cities", "Why did you destroy our schools?"
"What have we ever done to you to deserve such a fate?"  To many
Germans, it was England who was the aggressor.  It was the USA
who was the aggressor.  It was other countries, not Germany, that
was the aggressor.

Did Germany attack Britain?  No.  It was Britain attacking Germany.
Did Germany attack France?  No.  It was France attacking Germany.
Did Germany attack the USA?  No.  It was the USA attacking Germany.

A good case can be made that Germany was fighting a defensive war.
A war of survival.

A good case can be made that Adolf Hitler was far from being the
evil persona he was made out to be.

A good case can be made that Germany sought to please the Jewish
people by allowing them to emigrate elsewhere.

For decades, the Jewish people have presented themselves as being
perpetual victims.  This dishonors the Jewish people themselves,
given the Jewish people have made enormous contributions to the
world throughout the centuries.

How many times do the German people have to apologize for a past
they had nothing to do with?  How many times do the German people
have to allow themselves to be victimized by the rest of the world?

Germany has always been the catalyst of Europe.  By containing
Germany, the USA and the former Soviet Union could split the pie.
The pie being Europe itself.  That is the reason for the creation
of NATO.  And also the reason for the creation of the Warsaw Pact.
By keeping Europe divided (as well as Germany itself), both the
USA and the former Soviet Union stood lots to gain, and nothing
to lose.  What a grand conspiracy, don't you think?

With the re-unification of Germany, the breakup of the former Soviet
Union, and the end of the Cold War, it has become a brand new world.

But that brand new world is giving way to a dark new world.  Terror
is thriving, with no end in sight.  A forever war, that is what it is.
But nothing lasts forever.  Not even a forever war.  Something, at
some point in time, will replace the forever war.  What that something
is, or will be, nobody knows.  Until it happens.  And then will come
the end.  The end of human history.
