True to a point; the new system had the extra wheel I mentioned earlier.

They're in b&w and in poor condition from being in the family picture
collection. They're only good for reminding me of those days, when the
family went on these week-end jaunts to various places, such as Chicago's
Museum of Science and Industry.

You wouldn't, if you knew the history behind it. Perhaps you're unaware
that Hitler and Franco were allies and that Hitler helped Franco win the
Spanish Revolution of 1936. This led to a faction created by the Nazi in
Berlin and included Spain as the implementor in Mexico and South America.

Doubtful, in light of the way things are always done during war-times.
Like using a darkened lagoon to transfer goods and personel at night.

[Hitler and Franco]

On Oct. 8, 1938, Hitler and Franco signed a pact giving the Nazis the
power to direct Spain's national and international policy.

The Spanish fascists were trained by the Gestapo to work for the Axis in
Ibero-America. There were schools for Spaniards in Hamburg, Bremen,
Hanover, and Vienna. Graduates were commissioned as officers in the
Spanish Army's Intelligence Service, the SIM. Alberto Mercado Flores, a
veteran Spanish Falangist official, was sent to Mexico to command the SIM
operations there.

An article in the Deutsche Allgemeine Zeitung on Dec. 3, 1939, entitled
"Bridges Across the Atlantic," revealed that the model for selling the
anti-Christian Hitler and his Nazis to the Spanish-speaking world, was the
Holy Roman Empire of Charles V, the Austrian Hapsburg grandson of Queen
Isabela and King Ferdinand, who was also King of Spain.

Mexico's oil, which the Nazi used before the US got involved into WW2.

Dutch Shell Oil supplied the Nazi Army, while Standard Oil of NJ supplied
the Nazi air force.

That's the one that was scuttled by the crew, just outside of an Argentine
(neutral) port. Afraid to run the British gauntlet, set up to intercept in
international waters.
