Clinton most certainly was impeached..

In the simplest of terms, to be impeached is to be indicted or charged with a
crime or wrong doing..

The US House of Represntatives has the power and responsibility to impeach.

The US Senate tries the impeached official.

If Clinton was not impeached as you say, how did the US Senate acquit
him???????????????????????????????


Here Mr Knowitall..

The House of Representatives shall choose their Speaker and other Officers; and
shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.

and:

The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for
that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the
United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be
convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.

Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from
Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or
Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be
liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to
Law.

What happened with Clinton's case was that the required majority of Senators
did not vote to convict him on the two articles of impeachment.

Perjury Article: 45 to convict, 55 to acquit.

Obtruction Of Justice: 50 to convict, 50 to acquit.

Clinton still faced the civil/criminal penalties of his actions, which were a
separate matter of proceedings from a procedure designed to only decide if he
was fit to stay in office or not. He got fined heavily in the state of
Arkansas, got disbarred and also got stripped of his right to practice law in
front of the USSC.
