Poor kid... hope he feels better in the meantime. I had a similar case when my
son, age 4, stumbled on a curb at the rear door of our house, fell and hit his
head on the edge of the concrete steps leading up into the backyard. He hit his
left eyebrow, and there was blood all over the place. Took him to the hospital
(we have two quite near), where they X-rayed him (nothing broken) and closed
the wound with adhesive (to leave no scar). You could see a faint scar for some
3-4 years after that, but it's meanwhile invisible.

That kind of thing can really upset you... both I and my wife damned ourselves
for having the curb installed in the first place (to prevent rainwater from
running into the basement, which we use as office space), but desite the
unpleasant experience were glad we did in later years when violent rainstorms
came along and the curb kept the basement rooms dry.
