That's as shortsighted as coming up with a 5 billion US dollar budget to cull
all the elephants in New York's Central Park. When someone says "There are no
elephants in Central Park" you can then respond by "Good job huh?"

After take-off from 22L such a plane is airborne for 45 seconds before it
starts its left turn towards the ocean... 1m15s from Manhattan. Impossible to
stop if such flight crew is determined to do it. Before anyone knows what has
happened the Empire State Building has already collapsed. Events unfold just
too fast.
 
To make it even more realistic, the crew can declare an emergency and ask for a
vector to Newark for an emergency landing, it's easier to reach than turning
back to JFK and the flightpath is straight across Manhattan.
 
Besides ... F16's? You do not believe that, do you?
 
In Chicago the Sears Tower can be taken-out in minutes, in San Francisco the
Golden Gate Bridge crashed, in Seattle the Space Needle or even better "Boeing
Field" and in Orlando Disney World is minutes away. There's no way you're even
going to find 5% of all the F16's needed to secure all that.
 
I repeat: A terrorist which does not value his own life and embraces the
thought of being a martyr and 100 virgins waiting in heaven will strike
eventually. Impossible to stop.
