And you didn't beat the Raiders twice in one season, especially back then.

Yeup. Nancy was in the hospital on Super Bowl day and so we spent the day
in the lounge with all the other footballs fans there. Nancy was the only
one there cheering for the Raiders. I'd seen the Redskins earlier in the
season as was impressed by thier play. Nance is a died in the wool Raiders
fan and she doesn't quit when the chips are down.

Yeup...after Ole' Al decided to screw up the franchise. Moved it to L.A.
because they had a bigger stadium than they have in Oakland. The fan base
wasn't there and the Oakland fans were glad to welcome them back after
only a few years in L.A.. Nancy and I was hoping they'd move it to San
Diego and give the Chargers thier walking papers, but that was never to
be.

By then, I had lost all interest in football. Nancy only held interest
because her son backed the Chargers and she liked to rub defeat by the
Raiders in his face.

After moving here, there's no football franchise, so we have yet another
reason not to be interested. Nancy still follows the Raiders, but not like
she used to.

For some reason, San Antonio's football fans were all excited when Katrina
made it impossible to play in the Super Dome, and so the NO Saints played
home games here. Then there was talk of moving the Saints to SA and I
barfed at the very thought of that happening. Why would anyone want to
deliberately bring a franchise to SA that hasn't been worth a damn in
thier entire history?

Then there was talk of the Chargers moving here and thoughts of having the
next worst football franchise here made me even sicker.

They all root for thier basketball team that is pretty good, but not as
good as the Chicago Bulls with Michael Jordon playing through 7
championships. I finally got interested enough to watch them beat
Cleveland last night, at least the last 5 minutes of the game. Even then,
I was channel surfing and didn't see the final score until it came on the
news later.
