Everyone would rather have the gold, but gold doesn't lend itself
to electronic transfer very well. Unlike currency, it is more stable,
which is why currency is backed by gold.

I know you don't eat in fancy restaurants, but you'll find that the higher
echalon European restaurants do serve US beef. If you don't know the
difference between US and say, Brazillian beef (your highest importer of
beef), take a look at a steak before you dig in. US beef is marbled,
Brazillian beef isn't. I'd say that the UK/Ireland beef isn't either.

I check that too. Most of what's imported here is from US growers. Even
though the country of origin may be Guatamala, etc..

Then you'd probably like Texas Pink grapefruit. I'm told it's the best
there is.

Texas not only supplies us with refined oil products, but the entire
eastern seaboard via pipeline. As far as New York. I wouldn't be surprised
if there's a pipeline that supplies the west coast as well.

The midwestern states are those like Texas all the way to Minnesota.
Including the Dakotas and even eastern Montana.
