AIPAC spouts lots of Israeli propaganda.  And some people actually
believe it to be true.  Even though it is nothing but horse piss.

Israel and Syria came close to making a peace deal at the end
of Clinton's second term in office.  But they wound up 100 yards
short of their goal.  Maybe Obama will find a way to close those
100 yards, getting both sides to sign on the dotted line.  The
problem is, with "Bebe" Netanyahu in charge of Israel, no such
peace treaty will ever happen.

Anwar Sadat led a major war effort against Israel.
And yet Egypt and Israel found a way to make peace.

Yasser Arafat led a major terror effort against Israel.
And yet the PLO and Israel found a way to make peace.

King Hussein led a major war effort against Israel.
And yet Jordan and Israel found a way to make peace.

President Assad led a major war effort against Israel.
And yet Syria and Israel almost found a way to make peace.

If Israel and her Arab neighbors want to make peace,
they can find a way.

Just because they could does not mean they should.

Who are the terrorists?  Are the terrorists those who lob toy rockets
into Israeli neighborhoods?  Of course they are!  But what about the
terrorists who lob bombs from airplanes throughout an entire country,
bombing every major city and housing unit in the process?  Those are
terrorists, too!

Guess who is arming the terrorists?  We are!  At least, the Israeli
terrorists.  Others are arming the Arab terrorists.  But it does not
matter.  Both sides are terrorist!  Arming terrorists is not going
to end terrorism.

We armed the mujahadeen in Afghanistan.  Look what that got us.
We armed Saddam Hussein's Iraq.  Look what that got us.
We armed the mullahs in Iran.  Look what that got us.
We armed the Contras in Nicaragua.  Look what that got us.
How many terrorists do we have to arm in order for us to learn
our lesson?

By arming terrorists, or terrorist states, we have become terrorists
ourselves.  That is the bottom line.

In regards to your claim that Syria supports terrorism -

Syria has had to deal with terrorist groups the same as all other
countries.  However, the Syrian solution is far more brutal than
most other countries.  One group of terrorists found that out, the
hard way.  Rather than concentrating their efforts on eliminating
only the terrorist group, Syrian forces eliminated an entire town,
making sure no terrorist remained.

Syria and Lebanon are neighbors, and naturally good trading partners.
Kind of like the USA and Mexico, or the USA and Canada.  Until recently,
Lebanon has been able to build a real democracy in an area of the world
known for autocratic regimes.  Had it not been for Israeli warplanes
destroying the basic infrastructure of the country, Lebanon would still
be well on its way towards becoming a jewel of democracy, with Beirut
becoming the Zurich of the Middle East.  Which it once was, prior to
the days when Israel became a state.
