Hello Lee.

11 Apr 09 00:12, you wrote to Robert Bashe:

I would have to agree. The purpose of this echo is to discuss
the Fidonews and those articles contained within. The reality is
something quite differant. Bjorn is quite ok with this echo being
nothing more than a chit-chat echo and says little if anything about
flames. In fact I recall Bjorn stating that the moderators are the
users of this echo. The users are left to moderate themselves. When
was the last time a Fidonews article was discussed here?

LL> In a designated flame echo, such as this one, there are no rules.
LL> Hence, no moderation can take place (with, or without, a moderator).

LL> An honorable moderator (regardless of echo) seeks to facilitate

LL> seeks to do the same. But that only works in non-flame echoes.

LL> In a designated flame echo, such as this one, participants are

LL> Now. Try to follow the bouncing ball.

 LL> FidoNet is about dialogue.
LL> Or at least, it is supposed to be about dialogue.
LL> Each of us are free to participate, or not.

LL> Not everybody in this echo views FidoNet as being about dialogue.
LL> For some, FidoNet is about themselves. All about themselves. Their
 LL> own ego demands it.

LL> Seeking to have a participant removed from this echo is a flame.
LL> Saying one has twitted a participant of this echo is a flame.
LL> Whether or not one has actually twitted a participant is irrelevant.
LL> There are lots of other ways to flame participants. Too many that
LL> can be named. And some yet to be invented.

LL> As I mentioned in an earlier message, this is a public forum.
LL> Not only is this a public forum, but this is a designated flame
LL> echo, sanctioned by Bjorn Felten.

LL> I consider any and all posts I make in a public forum as being an
LL> "occupational hazard" - regardless of whether that public forum is
LL> a designated flame echo or not. Please feel free to post whatever
LL> comments you might want, in response to my messages and to others,
LL> as well as to post original messages of your own. And please, do
LL> not feel limited to this echo.

LL> One final word. For those who object to comments I make in this
LL> forum (being that it is a designated flame echo), there is an old
LL> saying that I suggest should be followed -

LL> "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the fire!"
