LOL! You're fucking hilarious. There haven't been 'iron' brake lines put
on any cars in decades. Not since the advent of stainless steel tubing.

RB> I might also mention that I was commenting on the present situation
RB> when I mentioned stainless brake lines, not on the situation of cars
 RB> made decades ago.

LOL! So much for your automotive expertise...even stainless lines will
corrode under certain conditions. You say stainless doesn't corrode?
Bullshit.

RB> A good parallel is the case of body rust protection. This used to be
RB> very poor, and I had more than one car with panels rusted through -
RB> in fact, this used to be the main reason why cars would fail the
 RB> mandatory two-year inspections here.

I think it was AMC or it's parent company, Nash that invented body rust
protection by dipping the body in a galvinizing solution. That was back in
the 50s or early 60s I think. The problem they had with it was that paint
didn't stick to it very well until they found an etching primer to apply
to it.

RB> But since around 1990, the body rust protection has become so good

RB> Luckily, there was no problem except for the clogged radiator, which
RB> I was forced to replace. That was some 5-6 years ago, and there have

What kind of coolant did you put in it and how much water was added to it?
