This presumably refers to regulation of fees, something which has long been
sorely lacking in the USA and has led to gross differences in fees for the same
medical treatment.

Also an excellent idea, as people needing such aids are currently gouged
unmercifly.

Since when is there any privacy for personal data in the States? And since when
is there any restriction on government agencies supplying funds (such as
welfare) gathering knowledge on those who receive the funds? Your excitement
about this is artificial.

To help finance the health care system that benefits his workers.

To pay for a minimum coverage. The only practical way of making sure that
everone is insured.

;-))) Nice twisting of words.

The rant continues, but doesn't get any more convincing.

Fact of the matter is that if you're young and healthy, you're going to be
against something like this. If you've ever beeen in a hospital or sick for any
length of time, you'll pause for thought. And if you really are in need, you'll
be for it 100%.

National health insurance is a bitch anyway you look at it - but sooner or
later, we're all going to need it and we might as well face up to the fact.
Sure, tweak the system, adjust it to local conditions - but the basic principle
that everyone needs health insurance is a 21st century reality. Those who
against it now won't be when they're older and in poor health - and it behooves
them to think more than one day ahead, since nobody can avoid becoming old and
sick. "Old" in this case can be 45 as well as 85, as anyone who has fallen
seriously ill at the former age can tell you.
