   That would be good if it'd be like that every where, though that 
brings up an interesting question.  Suppose a state has some weird 
freaky law that says for example it is illegal for anyone to drive a 
car without a picture of a nude lady air-brushed on the hood of the 
car.  Someone:
    A) Not knowing this law enters the state passing through, or 
       in time of emergency evacuating from their present state
       not familiar with the laws of the state gets pulled over and
       given a ticket.  Is this fair?  Granted in the case of the
       lack of insurance it's not fair to anyone getting hit, thus
       the need for a Federal Law Mandating minimum insurance 
       coverage.....
    B) What if a states laws regarding vehichle's safety and other 
       features was to go against another state's laws regarding
       safety and such.  Let's say Texas wanted to promote Pride
       in Texas and demand all drivers put a reflective foil bumper
       sticker across the top of the windshield and a yellow 
       reflective bumper sticker stating "Texas Resident".  Now
       suppose that Arkansas claims the reflective bumper stickers
       blinds cars during the daytime and demands that no vehichle
       can be on the road at all with any type of reflective bumper
       stickers.  Now of course a car can't drive over the state line
       pull the bumper sticker off, visit their family, and right as
       they get to the border again put a new bumper sticker back on,
       etc.   Or what about 18-wheelers.... (Granted, I know of NO
       State stupid enough to turn-down the taxes from DOT trucks!
       but just suppose we got a stupid governor that demanded that
       No Vehichle including an 18-wheeler can have more than one
       license plate on their vehichle.  One would expect the company
       owning the 18-wheeler to simply boy-cot the state with the 
       ridicalous law,  but let's say that Texas, Louisiana, 
       Mississippi, Florida, Tenasee and South Carolina all got 
       together and passed a law that allowed 18-wheelers to use only
       one license plate registered in whatever state the company is
       from, but also mandated that trucks can only have 1 single
       license plate on their truck, provided it's licensed from any
       of the states in the agreement.  If such a thing happend, a 
       small company that moved freight only to its neighboring 
       states might not have a need for multiple plates, and would
       find it actually cheaper to carry only one single plate. 
       Unfortiantly if a job came along that needed moving cargo
       out of those states, the company would need a company site 
       located just outside the state lines and would need to have
       a truck ready to off-load the cargo from the "domestic" truck
       allowing the domestic truck to return to the domestic states,
       while the foreign truck brings the freight to the other state,
       which would increase the cost for any company that had to ship 
       outside the domestic states....
 
    Just a thought... I know, not likely, but....
