    It's very much considered income as that's the only way they're allowed
to get away with paying them below minimum wage.  To be honest, its a system
that should be done away with!  The concept behind "Tipping" is that you
enjoy the service of the waitress and you want to reward her for her quick
and friendly service by giving her something "Extra".  In reality you are
not doing that, because you are just paying what the company should be
paying, so rather than rewarding the waitress, your saving the company a few
bucks and helping them to make a higher profiet when they raise the prices
on the meal you ordere.  The company claims they have to raise the prices
because of minimum wage going up, you pay higher prices to the company, they
don't really increase the wages to their waitresses because they claim your
giving them more money in tips (after all, they assume your going to tip the
waitress 10-20%  and since they increase the cost of the meal, the amount of
your tip goes up....) So they pay the waitress the same amount and you give
her and them more money, the company makes a higher profiet, the waitress
takes home pretty much the same amount of money, but is taxed more.... Who
does that law benifiet?  It's not me the person buying a meal.  It's not the
waitress... When I buy a meal, I refuse to go back to any place that puts a
MANDATORY TIP on any ticket, and I will not pay a tip if I feel it is
unjustified.  The company should pay their employees properly without them
having to beg for more money from the customers!  What if the next time you
went into walmart, you had to wait at the door for a buggy collector to
bring you a buggy, then tell you regardless of weather you wanted a buggy or
not, you must wait on them and tip them a minimum of $2.00.  Then you get to
the deli and decide you want some hot wings... On the receipt is a mandatory
$5.00 tip.  You get to the cash register and on your ticket you find another
$5.00 tip.  $2.50 to be divided up by the stockers and $2.50 for the
cashier....  I ask you... Had that happened to you, how many times would you
return to walmart?
