     I was actually waiting for you to come up with a post that ok'ed
the use of the "F". If swearing and profanity are to be allowed in this
echo I might suggest that you cease posting the echo rules. Or at least
update them to something akin to the rules posted in FN_SYSOP recently.


     Hmmm... Let's see.


       1. This echo, FIDONEWS is for anyone FidoNet Nodelisted or not.

       2. Basically, if you have access to this echo, you may participate
          in the echo and discuss anything you want and say anything you
          want. Swearing, vulgarity, and personal insults are permitted.
          So beware.

       3. There is a moderator. But everyone is expected to moderate
          themselves.

          And that's it, have fun....


     A set of rules like those above would match up very nicely with
your moderating style. That being not to give a damn until someone
speaks up to post something negative about you.

      This is an international echo Björn. Aren't you trying to force your
definition of what constitutes vulgarity and profanity onto the users of
this echo who are from a number of differant countries? I think it would fair
to say that if you were to poll 20 differant moderators and ask them if the
use of the "F" word or the discussion of child sex was permitted. I have no
doubt that the answer would be an emphatic NO!! You continue to post rules
that suggest that such behavior is NOT allowed. Yet you continue to post
messages such as the one I am responding to that suggest that it is. As I
have stated several times now people learn what is acceptable by reading
your posts both as moderator and as a user.

      What if the users of this echo expect more from the person who is
also the moderator than to swear and discuss having sex with little girls?
And to suggest that such behavior is to be permitted in this echo. Heck,
if the person who also happens to be the moderator swears, insults, and
talks about sex with children. Well then, that must be ok to do then.

     Thank goodness that the rest (I hope) of the users here have a better
sense of what is accecpable. As this is an international echo there are
also a number of differant moralities involved. It is not my intention to
suggest that my morals are any better or worse than anyone else's. But
there needs to be a reasonable idea of what is acceptable. So far Björn
and based on your own words. Your idea of what is permitted is not
acceptable. Yup, and I am sure that your answer will be something like
'Well, I am the moderator here so.. tough shit'.

      Björn, no insult intended. But you continue to show everyone why you
are the wrong person to be the moderator here and the editor of the Fidonews.
I respect your right to your own views of what is right and wrong. What
constitutes profanity, and even your apparent acceptance of pedophilia. Also
let me say that I am not overly offended by people swearing. It is the
principle of it's use that was the main reason I brought it up. Swearing,
regardless of it's offensive degree just isn't necessary to hold an
inteligent discussion. And personal insults are just a tactic of the weak.

IMHO.
