Save for the far left, this country would be much better off if it were run by
the people who represent the center. Bush's predecessor fooled the voters into
believing he was slightly left of center, but in reality judging by his actions
and those he kept close to him during his 8 years a POTUS, he was far left.

As a matter of fact, he did not. His opponent in the 2000 election got more of
the popular votes than did Bush. However, Bush won the election by a talley of
votes by the Electoral College. He who wins the most states with the most
Electoral votes, wins the election. Gore won California, which has the most
Electoral votes and should have swayed the election in his favor, it didn't.
Had
Gore actually won his own home state, he would have won the election. Had he
been able to win the state of the POTUS he served under, he would have won the
election (he didn't). It was that close.

I think so. However, it's not the majority who always wins here. There is the
independant factor that, depending on the candidate, will vote left or right.
It's the independants who decide the outcome by either voting for one or the
other majority candidates, or a lot of them vote for their own candidate. When
they vote for one or the other as a 'swing vote', or for their own candidate,
that takes away votes from the majority candidate who will lose to the other.
There hasn't been an Independant who could get enough votes to actually win an
election, but they sure do a lot of spoiling of elections.

BTW, I'm independant of either of the majority parties.

Of course I did. The 'label' put on the job doesn't neccesarily describe the
duties of that job. SOS is our version of your Minister of Foreign Affairs.
