     Yes, the 1st Amendment does allow for freedom of the press. But to
me it would only seem right in the exercising of that freedom that the press
would endever to be accurate and unbiased in their reporting. Course that is
a concept that does not factor in money making and politics. Both of which
have infected the press to the extent that one can no longer trust in what
the press is reporting to be accurate and in some cases even true.

     Or so they might think. If it was that hidden more people would take
the reporting more seriously.

     They lost me as part of their audience quite some time ago. I would
get a kick of the news reporters that would ask the same questions over
and over until they got an answer that suggested what they wanted the news
to say. Something I seen in both FOX and CNN. Course then there is the BBC.

     A common tactic. Cut and paste the news to say whay one would like
it to say. Can you tell that I have a problem with the press?? <g>

     I am sure that not all press are involved to the same degree. But
the more visible press like CNN, FOX, Minneapolis Star & Tribune <g>
are.

     I am sure it is both. They are sure to want to make more money. One
way to accomplish that is to get more people to watch their news. If
simply reporting the news doesn't that then making the news more
entertaining is a way of doing that. Which is ok IF the accuracy of the
news is maintained. But all to often one can see that accuracy is not at
the top of their list of priorities. And yes, politics play a growing
part in how the press reports the news. I especially noticed that some
years ago when we had the last presidential election.

     The problem that I see is that he allows himself to feed off the
media's agenda. Taking what they say as gospel and posting here in the
Fidonews echo. This echo isn't meant for his, yours, or my tirades.

     But from what I have seen. There is talk of changing the rules to
more accomidate the current moderator's style.

     Why do you think every one hates the US? Without even knowing
people from the US. Alot is based on what they see reported to them by
both US and foreign media. In this regard politics is the problem.
