No it is not, if he broke the rules he should pay the piper, seems that he is,
no title, 2 year ban.

In modern times at least, sports cheating and rule breaking isnt being taken
lightly anymore, granted the offenders have to be caught and shown to have some
real guilt in order to be dealt with.

Cincinnatti Reds Manager and baseball great, Pete Rose, caught gambling, barred
from Baseball for life.

NBA Referree caught gambling, fired!

Several NFL players, suspended for conduct off the field or from having found
to have consumed or taking banned substances. Ricky Smith, Adam Jones, Michael
Vick.

It made the news over here, not exactly on the front headlines, but I caught
the headline on my news aggregator.

Sports that have a better foothold over in Europe dont have the same following
or news coverage that you all may get over there, for example:

Soccer, if a US team isnt doing well, nah..

David Beckham, well he is bringing some coverage to soccer, more for his
celebrity status than anything else.

Formula One Racing, plays second fiddle to Nascar.

Tour D'France, if a American isnt placing high, no one cares.

Now dont extrapolate this as a divisive phenomena, just cultural.

Remember, Major League Baseball is coming down the home stretch as the picture
starts to become clearer as for which teams get to vie for the big show.

College Football and the NFL just fired up recently.

Headlines dominant from those:

A couple College teams picked to do well, ended up losing first couple games.

Michael Vicks suspension.

A NFL team spying on another.

So the Floyd Landis thing wasnt absent from our headlines, just buried.

Because he was an American???

Didnt a European Cyclist, on this years tour, whom was holding the lead get
removed from the race during on the the races stages for some sort of rule
infraction dealing with taking in substances etc?

Sad state of affairs in many sports, including the "Tour" that competitors feel
the need to cheat by blood doping or cramming in hormones to gain a edge via
body mass size or endurance. This has plagued sports over here, even on the
high school levels, fortunately its being dealt with.

I suspect the same mindset is involved, what motivates athletes to cheat, is
the samething that motivates criminals to steal and rob.
