As far as I know there were a lot of DEEC and inlet changes to help prevent
the whole stagnation issue.  The new -220 and -229 engines go a lot toward
helping out as well.  Doesn't mean I'm going to quit teasing the viper
drivers about their lawn darts.  "Real fighters have two engines and two
tails." :)

I was hedging a bet.  :)  It wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility to s
ee some enterprising engineer shoe-horn some kind of Rolls Royce powerplant
in there.

I was speaking of a gunzo engagement only.  When you throw in offensive avioni
cs and missiles, it becomes more of a "who saw who first" situation.

Now that is just a crying shame.  They're getting on the edge of safety there,
 especially knowing the unique reflexes required to keep one of those things
out of the dirt.  (for those that don't know, the F-16 has a complete Fly By
Wire system - the flight "stick" doesn't move more than 1/8" in any
direction.  It's a strain-gauge type of system)

Not really.  The F-15 has over 100 combat victories to zero losses.  AFAIK a d
etailed kill record is on Wikipedia.

Which parade Ward?  Could you provide me a link with pictures?  I'd be happy
to be wrong, but I just haven't seen anything that tells me Iran is building
home-grown combat aircraft.
