     I am in no way saying that Björn has not sent netmails and/or emails
to people in a moderator capacity. I have no doubt that he has. The point
that I have made is that those that have spoken up and said that he has
indeed sent netmails are those that he would consider a friend. Of those
that Björn considers troublemakers. All of the people asked have stated
that Björn has not sent them a netmail or email to ask them to modify their
behavior or to curtail a particular thread.

     As would I if asked. But since I am not on Björn's buddy list I don't
expect any moderation netmails anytime soon. Bottom line Ward is that as you
have already stated that if a moderator isn't doing his job then it's time for
a change. Is Björn special and should he be afforded special privileges?

     There are several things that could be done in lieu of Björn
relinquishing the throne that he percieves himself to hold. Such as
what has been suggested by Björn. That being the establishing of a new
Fidonews echo and a new Fidonews newsletter. But as I am sure you would
agree that is not a step toward a solution but a step to further divide our
network. Björn has demonstrated time and again that his interests are not
for what is best for the Fidonews or this echo. But instead for some sense
of power that he thinks he and Z2 have.

    If it were not for his predilection to express his open dislike or even
hatred for people based on nationality. Or his expressed bias and execution
of double standards. All in his capacity as moderator. I might consider
him a friend also. But me being from the US he has made it clear that that
would not be an option. Ward, if Björn were an effective moderator. Or at
least TRIED to be and effective moderator. We wouldn't know from his posts
as moderator or his actions as moderator what or who he hates. I would prefer
that he didn't but he has every right to dislike or even hate whomever he
chooses for whatever reasons that he chooses. But, he should not as moderator
project those personal views and hatreds to those within the Fidonews echo.
If Björn would like to actively moderate everyone evenly and fairly. I would
support his efforts. But he has clearly stated in this echo that he is fed
up with having to deal with people that he doesn't like or that he deems as
troublemakers. He has also stated that he is content to let everyone moderate
themselves because he no longer wants to deal with the frustration. What
more clearer indication do we need from the moderator himself that it's time
for a change? If Björn is so fed up with having to actively moderate. Why
hasn't he called for a change himself? I sincerely hope that he puts what
is best for Fidonews and Fidonet as his primary goal and acts accordingly.
