There are more similarities than differences. LEO collects the evidence. An
independent authority evaluates it and judges if it warrants arrest, detention
etc. You call that independent authority the DA, we call it an
"onderzoeksrechter". a "judge of investigation"

It is more a difference in terminology.

If he did not report is as stolen, but settled with the onwer of the barrel in
private, how is the police going to to link it to the case?

That is not proof. Youngster walk away all the times without the parents seeing
it coming.

Not at all. Youngster walking away is much more common than them getting
killed.

I do not agree with everything Ward says. So what? Your point?

No, becuase I would not expect it to lead anywhere. And F16 was depeloyed in a
case of disappearence of few years earlier here in The Netherlands. No result.

You forget that the parents sued him before and lost.
