I know that. Blom not only made first contact, he sent the 13yo girl (leo)

However, he did book and take a flight that he knew would end up in
Chicago. His claim that he was going to visit a friend in LA was proven
false because he had no further itinerary.

Bad anology, which doesn't apply to Meno Blom's case.

Right. But you can be convicted for a given actus reus ("guilty act"), the
required element to prove intent consists of showing mens rea (mental
state, "guilty mind") in criminal law.

Stupidity gets involved and it is priceless.

Intent in law is the planning and desire to perform an act, to fail to act
(i.e. an omission) or to achieve a state of affairs. Meno Blom achieved a
'state of affairs' when he arrived in Chicago.

Y'all might want to give up the blue faced arguements, as Meno Blom was
and is a convicted felon...
