Hello Everybody,

Usians.  What an insult.  Hard to imagine folks in this forum
insulting Mexicans like that.  The formal name of the country is,
and has been since 1824, "The United States of Mexico". And because
of a handful of nincompoops (they know who they are) who insisted
on dissing Mexicans by calling them "Usians", some Mexican lawmaker
submitted a proposal to change the formal name to "Mexico".

According to the Senate proposal, the idea makes perfect sense -
"when nobody, not even us, uses the name `The United States of Mexico,'
conserving it appears to be little more than an imitation of our
neighbor."

The bill was submitted Tuesday, the day before The United States
of Mexico celebrates the bicentennial of its independence.  What
a wonderful celebration it will be for Mexicans to have country
with a new name they can call their very own.  Mexico.  Such a
beautiful name, making all Mexicans proud.

Imagine that.  No more United States of Mexico.  You guys should be
ashamed of yourselves.  Especially those across the pond, who really
should know better.  First you invaded their country.  Then you gave
them a name to call their country.  Then you dissed them by poking
fun of the name you gave them.

Think about it.  Europeans aren't stupid.  Never have Europeans
referred to themselves as being The United States of Europe.  They
know better.  Especially after having fought two world wars amongst
themselves, and dragging other countries into their conflict.

Maybe the United States of America should do like the United States
of Mexico, dropping the United States from its formal name.  At least
that way Europeans would get things right, by referring to folks in
Mexico as "Mexicans", and to folks in America as "Americans".
