If you do that and do not have explicit permission to offer the video for
download, that is a copyright violation. Unless, of course, you video your own
performance (see YouTube).

Depends on what you call a "remake". As far as I'm informed, it's OK to use
snippets of copyrighted material in a collage, or to use distorted copyrighted
material for purposes of satire. And there's even a "fair use" provision that
the Israeli satirical magazine Latma used in their "We Con the World" (to the
tune of "We Are the World") video - however, there are arguments about how far
this goes, and YouTube blocked the video at the request of the copyright owner
of "We Are the World".

Of course you are, unless you record your own performance. Merely holding a
camera to record someone else's performance does not give you the copyright to
the performance.

Make all the points you want, but your opinion matters the same as mine in
this: nothing.

As I mentioned. You can do anything you want with stuff you yourself create.
Where that freedom stops is when you try to take over something somebody else
has created. Like it or not, that's the present situation.

And for heavens' sake, don't turn that around as "my opinion". I vote for the
Pirate Party too.
