Seems strange to me, though. Okeechobee is a very shallow, large inland lake
that's almost impossible to approach (swampy shores) and not really a water
buff's paradise. I once tried to get near it when exploring Florida by car, but
couldn't find any access. But who knows, maybe the locals have better
knowledge.

;-) Only a pity that California has such lousy politics - it'd otherwise be
such a wonderful place to live. I personally wouldn't want to live in Florida -
as you already mentioned, just too much humidity for me. And too many old
people (don't laugh - I may be old myself, but I hate to be surrounded by old
geezers). The idea of ending my days in an old folks' home with nothing to do
but sit around bridge tournements (I don't play bridge) is a horror vision for
me.

I can remember a friend of my mother who really was enthusiastic about
"Coh-pus" ;-) Never been there myself.

I know - and long for that here. At least we have no snow at the moment, and
the temperatures are above freezing. But I'm ready for winter to end.
