Osama bin Laden was a thug, and the world is infinitely better off for his
death. His existence was a brutish assault on sanity and decency, on the
humanness of life.

Osama bin Laden's death is one of those Wittgensteinein moments, where one
feels the insufficiency of language in condemning the beast.

One of the many purposes that Osama's death serves is that it exposes
hypocrites as, well, hypocrites. One cannot help but be amused at the
predicament of the apologists, but this cowardice is no laughing matter.

Yes, Osama bin Laden was buried at sea. At some level this is a poetically
befitting end to the SOB. It indicates that there is NO country willing to
taint its soil with the corpse.

He really should have been buried on the high seas, because he was a man
of the world, thus symbolising ignorance knowing no bounds.

Two important principles in Islamic law include doing the greater good and
preventing harm to others.

There was no available alternative in terms of a country that was willing
to accept the body. This was determined before the operation went down.

According to Islamic teachings and practice, the deceased must be buried
with proper procedures within 24 hours.

arguable that the burial of Osama bin Laden falls into this category.

The burial in question is of Al-Qaeda's leader, a man who has distorted
Islam's image around the world.
