But with your sholders now  round your  waist, you have to blame gravity, walk
around on your hands for a few months and it will soon go back to where it is
meant to be, it must be gravity then ;) Our kids seem to be a bit different
lots of them are skinny so long as they are white, I know that sounds racist
but it is not Polynesians are more inclined to be fat even if they are rugby
players,(they make big full backs) it is a cultural thing, island diets etc
don't help, plus fat ladies are pretty in their eyes! In my case when I was a
young canoist I had a 44 inch chest and a 34inch waist now they have swapped
places it must be gravity!! When I take one of the yachts out I see our kids
running round on the beaches and they are nearly all skinny with surf boards
and such playthings. But if the cell phone doesn't do what I want I give it to
the nearest pre-teen to sort out and it always comes back working! Sounds like
your place needs a rugby revolution dads taking the kids to the games on the
weekend and the kids running arround from the age of three having fun playing
it every day at school. I don't realise that when I was young this place would
have been called the seaside, now I live within sight of the sea it is just
matter of fact. If you have a moment too spare google map "One Tree Hill
Auckland", from my elevation on the eastern side of the mountain with a 400X
astronomical telescope I can see my boats on their moorings in the Tamaki river
due east of my home, Upside down though. On a clear day I can stand on my deck
(balcony) and see the Corromandel and Great Barrier Island, that area has many
camping places some are owned by the scouts and used all year round for camping
and tramping, One of our local sea scout groups own a ten bedroom house in a
harbour on the eastern Side of the Corromandel peninsular given by a wealthy
solicitor. They are the Hawke Sea Scouts. If you are a scout google"Roy Lucca
hawke sea scouts" for a surprise I was one of their venturer scout leaders in
the 1980s and Roy was very active then and to the best of my knowledge he still
is, he taught a mean sailing class and was a good rowing coach in those days.

I must agree with what you say above though, I also see this happening here,
but not as much as perhaps in your neck of the woods, you see the peer groups
at schools here are mostly what we call 'WheatbiX (tm) Kids' and slackers don't
get on too well in them. But on the Rugby feild once 200 pounds of fat gets
upto speed it takes a lot of stopping ;). Some of the Island kids can get it
moving if they want too!! Maori All Black Jonah Lomu (Samoan descent) weighed
120Kilo's and once was timed over 100metres at 10.8 seconds he developed a
rugby move informally known as the "Maori side step!" where he just didn't
divert from his course and just ran over the opposition  ;)
