I've worked with a Netherlander by the name of Weikart for long enough to know
to never call him Dutch or refer to his homeland as Holland, I mean for over 20
years I have worked with him at the University here in Auckland, and for some
where near a decade before that he was a pain in the arse to me as the Chief
Engineer for one of my customers, We generaly refer to him as the Hemorrhoid!

According to modern science (I'm not sure if it has been published yet) talking
with one of the DNA researchers in our School of Biological Sciences a few
months back, we started talking about the "Springbocks" the RSA Rugby team
visiting at that time, all of them are particularly large specimins of
humanity. Well the prof said that the Boers came from part of the Netherlands,
the area where his research showed the last of the Neanderthals were
assimilated into Homo Sapien Sapien (that's us) and as most of the Springbocks
are made up of Boer Yarppies they were probably what's left of the original
Neaderthals. It is only a minor slip in spelling to end up with Netherland as
against Neanderthalland ;-)

(Yarppie is slang for South African)
