It will help to speed it up, but the reason exhaust systems rust is
because your engine is a pump that compresses air; when you compress air,
it releases water vapor. When the exhaust valve opens, your engine pumps
that moist exhaust into your exhaust system, where the water condenses and
cools. Since the exhaust content is corrosive, that exaspertes the
situation.

They used to do that within a short period of time, but today they use
stainless steel coated components to stop the rust from happening sooner
than later. i.e. the exhaust system on my 02 pickup is 10 years old with
no signs of rusting out. If it were a 1972 or 1982 truck, I would have
replaced the exhaust system at least once in that same 10yr time period.

8^) I removed a perfectly working AC system from my race car. I've worked
up a system to help keep me cool when it's hot...I use an ice chest with
an electric pump in the bottom that pumps ice cooled water to a small
heater core that is outfitted with a fan...it does the job, but I really
don't have time to worry about the heat...so the cooler sits in the pits
more than it is in the car.

When I lived in San Diego, I could see snow on the mountains to the east
of town. That was as close to snow as I ever wanted to be. I grew up with
snow, ice and cold temps. I swore off of it way back in 1967, when I moved
to California.

And yes, we do have a change of season here in Texas. This month the trees
will begin to lose their leaves and the grass will go dormant until mid
February, when an early spring starts to bring mother nature back to life.

That is the time of year I like it here the most...then summer starts in
June and we'll have some pretty hot days until late September...like you
do in winter, I hibernate during the day on those hot days and venture out
after dark, when it is cooler.
