We can agree on nothing of the kind. I assume Bjorn's message slipped through
somewhere, and without his aggressive diatribes, whe echo is a good deal better
off.

The worst part was his activity as an _extremely_ partisan and aggressive
"moderator", claiming the authority but refusing the responsibility -
MODERATION - for the post. In many cases, he should have been moderating
himself and even banned himself at least temporarily from the echo.

No, the best thing would be for the troublemaker to either rethink his actions
and decide that other people also have rights and opinions that should neither
be belittled or ridiculed - or for him to simply refrain from posting, if
necessry with some help from cooler heads.

Better talk to Bjorn about that. I have no way of stopping his aggression. If
you can tone him down, there might be some hope of resolving the present
situation.

No, not by "certain readers", but by anyone with a modicum of neutrality in
their attitudes, me included.

Then he should stick to emails and leave fido alone. I can take and dish out
flames as well as anyone, but when nearly every message contains some nasty
aspersion or accusation solely directed at a single section of the
participants, I call that blatent and aggressive discrimination and nothing
else.

You mean Ross. I've also written him on this, but one thing has to be
understood here: needle someone long enough, particularly someone with less
patience than an angel, and you'll get a reaction. That's what happened here.

I take it you refer to Bjorn.

Here we're in 100% agreement, but I still must repeat that a certain degree of
civility to _everyone_ is necessary for reasonable discussions in fido, as
indeed anywhere in normal life.
