There is a big difference between "accidental overdose" and "tried
to kill yourself".  As you know, an "accidental overdose" can be just
as fatal as an "intentional overdose".  And usually is, depending on
type of medication.  A few years ago, a ladyfriend (former ladyfriend)
took a few too many pills (doctor's prescription) and never woke up.
She must have thought one or two pills would not be enough to soothe
her pain.  Did she intend to off herself?  I seriously doubt it.  She
just wanted to end her pain.  As quickly as possible.

Our society glamorizes youth.  And sex.  And violence.  When
terrorists flew passenger airplanes into skyscrapers on 9-11, the
event was televised live for days on end.  Including footage of
people jumping out of windows to their deaths below.  And this
was not the first time such events were televised, live to an
audience that could not get enough.

Several years ago terrorists attacked a local hotel in New Orleans.
They set the hotel on fire, and people on the upper stories could not
escape.  Local television stations provided live broadcasts, showing
people jumping out of windows to their deaths.  And then, to the horror
of many, the bodies of the dead were shown live on television.

When the space shuttle Challenger imploded just after liftoff, the
capsule holding the seven astronauts was shown plunging into the ocean
below, instantly killing all aboard.  This was televised live on CBS.
When a commentator noted that all seven astronauts would have survived
the implosion, but not the impact into the ocean, CBS chose not to
rebroadcast that segment.  None of the other networks would show it,
either.  The bodies of the dead astronauts have never been shown in
public or broadcast on television.

When the remains of the space shuttle Columbia were found, none of
the bodies of the astronauts were shown.  Not even what parts of their
bodies that survived incineration.  But presumably all the bodies of
the astronauts have been found.  Just like all the bodies of those
who lost their lives on 9-11 have been found.  Or so we have been told.

Have you ever seen the video "Faces of Death"?  There are actually
several videos, as the first video was very popular.  For some reason,
people have a strange fascination with death.  Especially when shown
live on television.

A select group of Americans watched Abraham Lincoln being gunned down
at a theater by a crazed actor named John Wilkes Booth.  After shooting
the president, Booth jumped on stage, made a proclamation, and escaped.
Both Lincoln and Booth became a legend.

Along a parade route, residents of Dallas, Texas were in for a treat,
as an American president had his brains splattered on his wife (and
the pavement) by a magic bullet that appeared from nowhere.  Somebody
even filmed the event, which has been shown over and over and over
again.

Americans watched live footage of Lee Harvey Oswald being gunned
down inside a police station in Texas by mafia hitman Jack Ruby.
Both Oswald and Ruby became a legend.

Two space shuttle disasters, one shown live.
Terrorist attacks, many shown live.
An American president getting whacked, caught on film.
An assassin of a president getting whacked, live on television.

Death sells.  Live coverage of death sells even more.
We used to hang convicted felons in public.  Or fry them.
Or shoot them.  Or gas them.  If we were really serious
about getting rid of the national debt, we would show
live coverage of executions on television.  For a fee.

Now that I have solved the European economic crises,
it is up to Europeans to implement this mad plan.

Re-instate the death penalty throughout Europe.
Execute convicted felons live on television.
Reap the benefits, those benefits being prosperity
for all who have not been convicted.

And then all Americans will accept Europeans
as being their equals.
