their due. For another thing, the weaponry used in class warfare is envy,
which, along with its Siamese twin, self-pity, are the two most loathsome
human emotions. Those who have less than others are told that the only reason
for the imbalance is that they've been cheated. ... The truth is, there is
nothing noble about poverty, especially not in America, where, thanks to
limitless opportunities to improve one's lot, it is probably more difficult to
remain poor for more than a single generation than it is to become wealthy."

`Envy' and `self-pity'. A perfect description of you and some others I could
name. You wallow in self-pity, blaming your self-created circumstances on
everyone else and pretend you have no responsibility in the matter whatever.


I want to be the one to inform you that, when I heard of this latest little
escapade of yours, I expressed regret that you weren't successful. It is my
belief that you yourself called the authorities after ingesting some
concoction that would probably make you good and sick, but be unlikely to
actually kill. My regret was that you didn't make a terrible mistake in what
you mixed up and had actually succeeded in `offing' yourself. I harbored the
hope that you were not only successful, but that you had also managed to take
yourself out of the gene pool without re-producing more of your ilk!


I wanted you to get that from me, and not from any other source. I want there
to be no mistake in your mind that, had you succeeded in your lame attempt at
suicide (I will always be convinced that you faked it all for attention, like
a pitiful little child), I for one would have expressed laughter at your
utter stupidity! Next time I hope you get it right. Please try again real
soon. Only this time, without the `goodbye cruel world' e-mails to people you
know will do their best to stop you, and (just in case) last-minute phone
calls to 911!


Or....try sending me a `netmail' telling me what you're about to do. I'll
ignore the message until safely past your pauper's burial before I bring it to
anyone's attention. Doubt it? Try me! I wouldn't call for any `help'. I'd wait
till they could smell your rotting body before I'd reveal your netmail threat
of self-destruction.
