I'm often tempted to use a bogus address and reply using false info, but I
don't and won't.

That I wouldn't do, but occasionally I get email from friends sending me a link
to a site that my client warns me about, so I delete the message and forget
about it.  I do tell my friends to not send that sort of thing to me again.

One would think that if they could shut down the newsgroups to the consumer
without a reduction in consumer price, they could darn well block and/or delete
this spam before we even saw it, much the same as they did 10 years ago when
they blocked all incoming email from a .com address.  My ISP denied this, of
course, but I have a pretty good BS detector.
