All modern TVs here have a DVB-T receiver built in. They receive all of the
"free to air" channels. The satellite, or cable device are extra.

They have shut down the anelogue channels in regional areas, it is supposed to
be discontinued here in the cities by the end of next year.

Only scrambled channels here are the satellite or cable ones. "Normal" TV just
works.

Bit of a double up here, all TVs sold in the last 3 to 5 years have the DVB-T
tuner built in. It works just like the "set top boxes" but requires just the
one remote, power socket and antenna feed.

WHat do you see as the fexibility of an external tuner?

DVB-S - digital satellite? I don't have satellite or cable, never felt the
need. There's enough crap on the free to air channels.

Bob - I work in IT support, I know about people who are hard pressed to turn a
light on.
