one of the main decisions i made WRT to my PostIt software was to orient the
control lines in such a manner as to make this harder to false on... IIRC the
idea is/was that many read not only the header but also some X number of bytes
into the message body where the control lines are positioned... as such, i
specifically made the decision to shove the MSGID first after the binary
header... as such, i have not had any reports of FPs at all even when posting
100+ messages per second... i have, however, had problems with systems not
honoring the specs which state that the message body is unbounded which tells
me there is no limit on the size of the message body... with that in mind, any
system that has problems tossing/handling messages of 64K+ has artificial
limits in place and those limits are placed by that software's author... this
is why there is some tosser (and reader!) software that cannot handle message
bodies larger than 8K, 16K or even 32K... quite contrary to the FTSC
specifications as written from the earliest days of fidonet :?

timestamps are a poor solution... i've one or two packages here that allow for
multiple messages to be written and then the timestamps are created when the
posts are converted in a batch to FTN format... this means that one could write
50 messages and then they are all converted at the same time which means, as
alluded to above, that 50 messages written by a human would all have the same
timestamp and not be "robotic" as some tend to see them :?

the specs list the length of the subject lines so prepending a page number
should be no problem as long as the subject line is truncated at the proper
length ;)
