i was actually talking about testing the dupe detection stuff and seeing how
many systems lost X messages out of a stream of Y quantity that all had exactly
the same binary header with differing MSGIDs and content...

yeah, and?? it ain't like there's not already been a lot of whining and crying
about one thing or another over the last decade and more ;)

i submit that all of the nodes in net261 don't run all the various mail
handling software used all over fidonet...

and the test would be tilted and effectively false... what if all of those
systems passed all the messages? the test would say that there was nothing
wrong but we know there is/was 'cause we're having this discussion ;)
