I don't even like the name of that one. 8^)

That's a very interesting story. Sounds like my dad. He didn't know squat
about computers and against my advice, bought a conglomeration by
mail-order. He wouldn't let my brother touch it and so all the software
that came with it was still in the packaging when I went to pay M&D a
visit. It had also died in that time. I don't know what was wrong with it
anymore, but he let me open it up and I got it running. It was just a DOS
machine and no instructions in how to install software. I didn't need it
and installed enough to get it off the ground.

RWebb> There are of course several such methodologies that this sort of
RWebb> thing could be done if one really is so inclined.

When I got back to San Diego from the above visit, I bought him a 386 and
put Win3.1 on it, along with some card games and a word processor (which
is why he bought a computer in the first place). Shipped it to him and
when I called and asked if he got it, he said yeah but it got damaged in
shipping, so it doesn't work. I told him to let my brother look at it, but
he was adament about my brother not touching it. So he went without a
computer for 2years, until I paid them another visit. Had it up and
running and the first thing out of his mouth was; I don't want to play any
games on it. When I showed him the Solitare games, he changed his mind.
After that, he was always playing Gulf Solitare every morning when I came
downstairs for coffee... 8^)
