fact is that the companies running such scams are _American_ (happy, now?), not
German, and that the airports are accessories, as they profit handsomely from

But not 10-20 times costlier. Why do you simply assume that and apparently
condone it?

"You"? And "lowest bid"? Don't make me laugh. Why are there no public phones in
such places? Why is there a monopoly of companies who pay the airport for the
privilege?

Oh, BULLSHIT! Set up pay phones anywhere you like and except for the cut for
thr airport the cost is the same. There's no reason at all that calls from an
airport should be higher than those from a normal pay phone anywhere else in
the country.

Dammit, Ward, are you really so dense that you never read that the cost is
NOT!!! stated in advance? That was the whole point of this business.

Easy. Cell phones are everywhere. _Locals_ have them. Try using a two-band
European cell phone in the States sometime.

Every _logical_ explanation. You can take offence at any word you want, but
don't try to define words just to take offence at them.

You are trying to interpret something into the reports that isn't there. The
military personnel were, very true, separated from the civilian traffic. The
purpose wasn't to screw them, but to keep them separate (and incidentally to
prevent violence against American military personnel - suicide bombers would
_love_ such a target) and to protect them. However, a couple of American
companies running phone lines from a German Airport (and other airports
including Schipol, if I might add) are screwing _everyone_ who uses the (thanks
to the airport) monopoly phones.

Who gives a s**t? Do you _really_ think that's relevant in this case? Hey,
Ward, _military_ personnel! Not civilians, not people wanting to leave the
airport, not civilians heading for another destination. MILITARY!

So what does this have to do with phone scams of US military personnel in the
Leipzig airport?

Would you prefer they fly via Brussels? I might remind you that the main
American air base in Europe is still in Germany. And again, what the h*ll does
this have to do with a scam of AMERICAN companies in foreign airports? Why on
earth are you trying to defend such practices?

Now you're really off in a tangent. Why not bring in the psychological
condition of German air crews?

As for the rest, I can only assume you have a lot of time on your hands and are
trying to generate some action in the echo.

If you have so much free time, how about fixing your ftp server? It still
doesn't work except for active connections. I offered you help no less than
three times, but was always told you had no time. Was that a mere excuse?
